Modes of Lucidity Assessment

Lucidity offers two simple ways to evaluate cost savings across major clouds — AWS, Azure, and GCP — so you can choose what best fits your environment.

1. Dashboard-Based Assessment (Recommended)

• The easiest way to get started.

• Run your assessment directly from the Lucidity Dashboard — no downloads, no manual setup, no network whitelisting.

• Available for AWS and Azure.

  How Does it Work

At a high level,

1. Solution utilizes cloud provider-native agents to gather disk utilization data without impacting workloads

2. Lucidity Assessment App then pings each VM to collect the disk and VM metadata using Cloud Native Read-only APIs

3. The metadata and disk utilization is then processed to generate Cost Saving Report

2. Desktop App-Based Assessment

A lightweight desktop utility that can be downloaded and executed locally within your VM.

Ideal for GCP environments or air-gapped setups where dashboard access is limited.

How Does it Work

At a high level,

1. As a first step, you download the Lucidity Assessment Desktop App to your localhost and run it.

2. Tool then utilizes cloud provider-native agents to gather disk utilization data without impacting workloads

3. Lucidity Assessment App then pings each VM to collect the disk and VM metadata using Cloud Native Read-only APIs

4. The metadata and disk utilization CSV file is then shared by customer with Lucidity to generate Cost Saving Report
